Congratulations to Xiaoying Chen and Gregory Thurston, who were both named to the 2018-2019 All-State Academic Team through Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)!
Xiaoying is an international student from southern China and a Mathematics major who is considering multiple transfer options, including Cornell University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Purdue University, to name a few. She tutors her peers in SUNY Broome’s Math Lab, and is active in PTK and the International Student Organization.
President of Student Assembly, Gregory is a former Marine Corps recruiter who has transitioned into civilian life. He will graduate in May with a degree in Business Administration, and plans to become a successful entrepreneur. On campus, he is a member of the Men of Excellence, the President’s Task Force in Diversity and Inclusion, and the Business Club.
