SUNY Broome and LUMA have partnered this year to provide office space at the Koffman Southern Tier Incubator. This has opened an opportunity for SUNY Broome students to work directly with the wizards who are behind the technical side of LUMA!

Now in its fifth year, LUMA is a projection arts festival that has brought more than 35,000 people to the downtown Binghamton area. This year, LUMA will return on Sept. 6 and 7 with an entirely new show, new surprises and new technical hurdles. And organizers want SUNY Broome students to help!

If you are interested in participating, you’ll be at the ground level of one of the most advanced and largest technological presentations of this kind in the entire United States.

LUMA is looking to fill the following roles:

  • Production Assistant: A role focused in planning the logistics of each projection and/or installation
  • Technical Assistant: A role focused in assisting a site-specific Technical Director in the creation and execution of the show itself
  • Street Level Assistant: Responsible for important logistical concerns regarding festival execution, including festival information tents, merchandise, VIP concerns, festival set-up and take-down, and guest services
