If it's on the ground, it's in our water.

Go green and help keep our waterways clean by making sure you don’t contribute to stormwater pollution.

Water runs off all type of land surfaces, from yards and driveways to roofs. Individuals, households and the general public thus play a major role in battling pollution.

Materials, chemicals or other substances that make their way into our storm drains are transported and discharged into the local rivers, streams and creeks within our watershed. The following actions have the potential to generate stormwater pollution:

  • littering
  • disposing of trash and recyclables
  • disposing of pet-waste
  • applying lawn chemicals
  • washing vehicles
  • changing motor oil
  • household behaviors such as disposing leftover paint and household chemicals

Please report any stormwater issues or illicit discharges to Public Safety at 607-778-5083 or Maintenance at 607-778-5007.

Keep it clean, clear and safe
