Self-Defense silhouettesSUNY Broome’s Public Safety and Criminal Justice & Emergency Services Department are sponsoring a Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Course for female students, faculty and staff. RAD is a realistic self-defense tactics and techniques training program for women. This program includes lecture, discussion and physical resistance strategies taught by certified RAD Instructors.

The course will be held in the Baldwin Gym beginning on Monday, July 9, 2018, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and will run for four weeks. Class dates are July 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30, and August 1.

Class size is limited and acceptance in the class will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. A $10 fee will be collected upon registration. This fee will be returned upon completion of the course. In order to complete the course, participants must attend at least 90% of the course.

To sign up for the course, contact Public Safety in person. The Public Safety Annex is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
