SUNY Broome Associate Professor Patricia Evans delivered a presentation to Sarasota County, Florida, Office of Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources on the Exhibition Series: FACES of the Holocaust, produced by her ART 115: Beginning Drawing students.

Florida’s Holocaust Education Mandate requires all school districts to establish a lesson plan on the Holocaust. The Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg features a permanent exhibition entitled “History, Heritage and Hope,” with an enormous amount of original artifacts including clothing, shoes, letters, photographs with life stories and more textual documentation.

Showing more kindness and compassion towards those that are different than you was the underlying theme for Evan’s presentation.
