Show more kindness and compassion to those who are different than you. – Patricia Evans

Collaborating with Pamela Connelly at the Tabernacle United Methodist Church and Donna Parmer, Recovery Coach at the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier, Evans partnered with a myriad of local Human Service agencies on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 83 Main St. in Binghamton.

This event promoted “an awareness of how the integrative arts can be useful tools to find hope and support in the journey to recover.” Local musicians, artists and interactive workshop specialists, along with a laughing yoga presentation and refreshments filled the afternoon with fun, awareness, mindfulness and meditation. Tables at the community event Cultivating Hope, Healing and Resilience through Integrative Arts.

Evans joined with agencies including Center of Treatment Innovation, Binghamton Vet Center, Broome County Urban League, Addiction Center of Broome County, Fairview Voices Recovery Center and MHAST Sunrise Wellness Center, as well as Ilona Horvath, chairperson of the Social Justice Committee at the Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
