Phi Theta Kappa officers were photographed on campus yesterday wearing the array of medals they have earned this year including their excellence-in-service medals, SUNY Chancellor Award medals, Coca-Cola Gold Scholar medallion and Guistwhite Scholarship medallion. Faculty Adviser Professor I.J. Byrnes wore her adviser medallion and International Hallmark Award medal during the photo session.

Officers were celebrating a year of outstanding achievement and hoped to encourage the next class of honor society leaders to do the same. The 2013-2014 officers of Phi Theta Kappa earned seven New York State Region Hallmark Awards during their tenure. Officers have been asked to wear their medals at graduation to inspire fellow students and guests to set and meet challenging goals in their own lives.

Phi Theta Kappa is the campus’ two year international honor society and is a long-standing student club at SUNY Broome.
