The Gallery @ SUNY Broome will present “Origins: Traditions of African Art” in honor of Black History Month this February.
The exhibit will start on Friday, February 5, and run through March 1. The opening reception, hosted by SUNY Broome’s Black Student Union, will run from 3 to 5 p.m. in the gallery, located on the first floor of the Library.
The Bundy Museum has generously loaned the college African artifacts from their traveling collection. The exhibit will feature a large number of artifacts, including masks, sculptures, statues and figurines. The artwork is a living example of Africa’s rich history and traditions.
