Please join me in recognizing National Distance Learning Week 2019, November 4-8, which will highlight quality practices in distance learning.

The Professional Development facilitators have collaborated with the Distance Learning Steering Committee and faculty members across campus to develop a weeklong series of focused professional development programming and invite members of the campus community to share in the enthusiasm for online learning platforms.  Four distinct trainings will be offered including a workshop for students who are interested in taking an online course, a soft launch of new Blackboard functionalities, and best practices for online learning and engaging dialogue on ways to increase student success in online courses. Registration and more information about all of the trainings can be found here: http://news.sunybroome.edu/buzz/nov-4-8-is-national-distance-learning-week-reserve-your-seat-today/

This week in The Buzz, a series of articles authored by faculty discussing how they maximize Blackboard’s potential as a pedagogical partner in the delivery of curriculum in online and blended courses will be featured. Our faculty teaching online and blended degree programs are already innovators within the SUNY system and we look forward to providing even more opportunities to better serve our students in this 21st century collaborative educational space.
