Our nation and our communities are increasingly committed to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. However, we still face serious challenges addressing insensitivity and systemic marginalization based on ethnic and racial difference. Persistent displays of individual and structural racism continue to make colleges and universities take on leading roles to equip community members with skills, dispositions and awareness to effectively pursue social responsibility and healing from the legacies and harms of racism.

SUNY Broome’s Dean of Students Office and the Department of History, Philosophy & Social Sciences is sponsoring a training webinar, prepared by the American Association of Colleges and Universities, to address the historical and contemporary effects of racism. The webinar will take place at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, in Decker 201.

The Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) training will share how campuses across the nation are implementing specific strategies through authentic partnerships and skill development that improve democratic life based on a racial justice foundation.

Please participate in this event and encourage your students to also attend.
