March 29 Common Hour: How real is the threat of nuclear war?

The first and only time nuclear weapons were used was 72 years ago. Why does a threat that seemed so unthinkable now seem eminent? At 11 a.m. March 29 in T-102, join faculty members Lee Whitted and John Sterlacci, who will engage in a discussion of the possibility of nuclear war.

Also, the discussion will include the trend of countries and non-state actors or having or seeking such weapons. If the unthinkable occurs, what will be the effects of this warfare on our environment and the international economy?
