SUNY Broome hosted a career fair for students featuring law enforcement, first responders and other emergency services.
Many different branches of law enforcement were present at the event. The New York State Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, New York State Troopers, Broome County Sheriff’s Office and the Broome County Government Security sent representatives. At the local level, the Endicott Police had a table with officers. Also present were the Broome County Probation Department and a sergeant from the United States Marine Corps. Lourdes Hospital Security also attended.
Far fewer emergency service groups were represented. Only the Broome County Fire Department and EMS and the City of Binghamton Fire Department and EMS sent members.
The Law Offices of Battisti and Garzo and the Family and Children’s Society also drew interested students.
The fair was held in the lobby of the Student Center on March 26. The turnout was impressive; a diverse group of students flooded the fair from the beginning of the event at 11 a.m.
