Students, our top priority is to make sure our campus community remains safe as classes begin this fall. In order to do this, we have created a mix of face to face, blended, synchronous, and asynchronous courses.

Below  is some important information on how to identify these courses, how to access them, and where to get your questions answered.

What are the different modes, how do they work?

  1. Fully Online Asynchronous
  2. Blended (Hybrid)
  3. Synchronous Remote
  4. Web Supplemented
  5. Traditional (“Face to face”)

Information on how different course modalities work can be found here.

How can I see if my courses are going to be delivered in one of these remote modes?

Look for a Y, B or R in your course code:

  • Y = Fully Online Asynchronous (Example: ENG 110Y01)
  • B = Blended (Example: ENG 110B01)
  • R = Synchronous Remote (Example: ENG 110R01)

Web supplemented and traditional (“face to face”) courses will not have an extra letter in the course code (Example: ENG 110 01)

How and when do I access the course?

Visit the Online @ SUNY Broome website for information on how to access your courses.

Thank you so much for taking time to look through this information and prepare for the start of classes. We want you to have the best possible experience this fall.

The most important advice we can give is to STAY CONNECTED. If you have a question about coursework don’t hesitate, be sure to ask your instructor. Read “the Buzz” email newsletter so you can always know what’s going on, and take advantage of virtual opportunities and activities when they are offered.

See you very soon!
