A historic district in Mexico

We’re looking for adventurous, enthusiastic and open-minded students to join us in a new, grant-funded study abroad course!

ANT 288: Storytelling & Heritage (3 credits) will focus on how stories help us understand heritage and culture. Students will explore myths and folklore, origin stories, film, photography and digital storytelling, oral history, urban legends, autobiographies and journalism. These topics will be used as ways to explore and understand different cultures, and break down the barriers between them.

The course, which is conducted in English, will meet on Thursday afternoons during the semester. Students in the U.S. and Mexico will video-conference through the semester. In April, students from Mexico will visit SUNY Broome, and in May, we will travel and visit our partners in Celaya.
