Join us from 11 to 11:50 a.m. Feb. 21 in Decker 313 for This Body Is Mine, a powerful discussion of eating disorders with Alexis Katchuk.

Katcuk writes: “(in) eating disorders and recovery, the physical body obviously comes up — and one of the most difficult things for me was to not only accept this body as my own, but also to appreciate this body and then, finally, love this body.  I had to be comfortable in my own skin, I guess. And we see in most media that we should be striving to change our bodies, and we see in the media that we’re supposed to change ourselves. We are told that we are not good enough as we are.  With social media and advertising pulling even more power in the society, being okay with who you are is becoming more difficult.”
