Join SUNY Broome’s Department of Teacher Education and Early Childhood Education, the Broome Educators of Children Association student club and the Literacy Legacy project on Saturday, May 4, for the 39th annual Children’s Fair.

The family-friendly event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the SUNY Broome Student Center. Admission is free, although donations to the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse will be accepted.

This year’s theme is “Things that go … everywhere!” The event features hands-on activities created by SUNY Broome Teacher Education/Early Childhood Education students.

There will be an art area for creative play, a science area, and a quiet area for infants and toddlers, as well as big trucks, snow plows and fire trucks. Local businesses and community organizations such as the Finch Hollow Nature Center and Chenango Gymnastics will also be on hand in our Community Resources area.

Do you have an organization or business with services of interest to families or children? Consider having a table in our community resources room. Contact Christine Duffy-Webb at webbca@sunybroome.edu or (607) 778-5160 for more information.

Nutritious and low-cost lunches and snacks will also be available. There also will be a basket raffle to benefit BC Center, the on-campus daycare provider, and a buy-one, get-one Scholastic book fair.

For more information about this event, contact Professor Mary Donnelly at (607) 778-5029 or donnellyme@sunybroome.edu.
