Black and white cameraCommunications Instructor Marcia Blackburn and her two students, Matthew Otey and Cody Taylor, recently had the opportunity to curate the S.C. and Wilbur Dodge Ansco Camera Collection exhibit at TechWorks in downtown Binghamton. Wilbur Dodge, who passed away days before the exhibit opened, worked as an engineer for Ansco and his father was an emulsion expert in Ansco’s film division.
The exhibit examines technological innovations and the design history of the cameras.  A catalog of the exhibit with text researched and written by Prof. Blackburn, Susan Sherwood (Director of TechWorks), Matthew Otey, and Cody Taylor, is available. The exhibit will run through May 2018.
TechWorks is open from 1-4 pm Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, or by appointment. Prof. Blackburn encourages her colleagues to tour the exhibit with their classes to teach local history and technology.
