Join us on Jan. 22, 2018, as 16 small business entrepreneurs graduate from SUNY Broome’s Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP). During the event, prize money will be awarded for the first, second and third place winners in the EAP Business Plan competition.

The event will take place in SUNY Broome’s Collaboration Lab, located on the third floor of the Koffman Southern Tier Incubator at 120 Hawley St. in Binghamton. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the graduation program will follow at 7 p.m. Jan. 22.

Speakers will include SUNY Broome President Kevin E. Drumm, Broome County Executive Jason Garnar, EAP Director Janet Hertzog, Chair of the Binghamton SCORE Chapter Bryce Reynolds, Chair for Binghamton SCORE Chapter and EAP instructor Cheryl Fabrizi.

The entrepreneurs completed a rigorous 12-week, 60-hour program of classroom lecture, discussion, homework and lab work sessions. They also completed an additional 10 hours outside of class of technical assistance and then turned in a written business plan for their business idea.

The business plan competition was held Jan. 15 and 16; participants competing for donated prize money. Each client presented their idea to a panel of five judges. Donations for this competition came from Tioga State Bank; Visions; the Binghamton Local Development Corporation; Tioga County Economic Development and Planning; Rock Boulder, Inc.; Permanent Cosmetics of NY, previous EAP clients; Janet Hertzog, Debbie Morello and Darlene Kanuk, friends of EAP.
