9 Ways To Be Intentional Every Day

Here are nine simple ways to be intentional every day:

  • Be mindful of the media you consume
  • Choose to be kind
  • Do something that brings you joy
  • Ask “why” before you buy
  • Practice active listening
  • Make time for self-reflection
  • Do something you can be proud of
  • Question your “have to’s”
  • Prioritize rest and self-care

Mindfulness Monday out of the Counseling Corner

Being intentional can help you set your goals, priorities, put yourself first and possibly get the most of out life.

This week we are going to work on being intentional.

When you wake up each day this week – before jumping out of bed:

  • Pay attention to the first thought that comes to mind before you get out of bed.
  • Write this down.
  • After writing your first thoughts down, think about how you want your day to go – set an intention for the day. For example- I am going to work on completing my to do list. Or, I am going to not stress over things that are out of my control.
  • Write your intention down on a piece of paper and carry it with you through the day – or for those of you who do not use paper – put it in the notes section of your phone.
  • Look it over throughout the day.
  • At the end of the day take it back out and reflect on this – How successful were you? If you feel you were not successful, what got in the way – NO judgements, just accept it and move forward.
