American Dining Creations held the first Chef Education Series cooking class at the Student Village on May 8.
Student Village students were given the hands-on opportunity to tackle several simple recipes that are well-suited for a residence hall, using basic equipment, techniques and a small shopping budget to create multiple meals.
Students worked with Director of Dining Services Kyle Maurer and Chef Peter to whip up Rotisserie Chicken Ramen Noodles, Cold Sesame Noodle Salad, and a Microwave Chocolate Mug Cake.
The students had a lot of fun and got to eat some great food, and received a gift bag of recipe cards, tools and treats.
One lucky student also took home a $50 gift basket of cooking equipment to outfit their room. It was a great experience, and one that we plan to recreate throughout the Fall and Spring semesters to come.
