SUNY Broome Theater students are currently rehearsing for their Fall 2019 production, called “Curtains Up on Broadway: A selection of stage and film masterpieces.”

All of the pieces chosen have won major Tony and Academy Awards and four have won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. All were originally plays that were made into films.

Included in the evening will be scenes from “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” by Edward Albee, “Fences by August Wilson, “West Side Story,” by Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein & Stephen Sondheim, “Doubt, A Parable” by John Patrick Shanley, “Lost in Yonkers” by Neil Simon and “Look Homeward, Angel” by Ketti Frings, based on the famous novel by Thomas Wolfe. Director Katherine Bacon is not pictured but will be appearing in the production.  

Set your calendars: The performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday Nov. 21 and 22 in the Angelo Zuccolo Little Theatre. Watch for more information!
