Dear Students,

We are looking forward to your return to campus when classes begin on August 31. Our top priority is to make sure that you and others around you remain safe. In order to do this, we have made numerous changes to our campus and classrooms. As you know, there will be a mix of face to face, blended, synchronous, and asynchronous courses.

Social distancing will be required on campus. A distance of at least six feet should be maintained between people at all times. While in buildings and classrooms, you will be required to wear face coverings. Hallways will have directional arrows so that we can limit the amount of close contact. Most lounges and seating for social interaction will be closed off and restrooms will be limited as to how many people can enter at one time.  All services on campus will continue to be provided; however, to ensure your safety, most will be delivered remotely.  We will have areas identified where you can study, utilize technology and access Wi Fi so that you may successfully continue your studies. Library services and tutoring support will continue to be available. To provide the safest experience for you, most will take place in a remote delivery format.  Please check the library webpage as well as webpages for all our campus services to review how and when services will be delivered.

Due to the increased need for technology, and to help ensure you can complete your courses as successfully as possible, we are pleased to announce our laptop purchase programs. Computer purchases can be made through Dell (directly from our website) or through the college bookstore (http://news.sunybroome.edu/buzz/discounted-laptops-from-dell-and-hp-available-to-all-faculty-students-and-staff/).

To ensure the safety of our campus community, each day that you come to campus, you will be required to respond to self-screening questions prior to your arrival. All faculty and staff on campus will also be required to complete a set of screening questions.

We value your collegiate experience.  With safety in mind, there will still be opportunities for you to engage in activities, organizations and student leadership this Fall. Your wellness is critical; health services, personal counseling, and the food pantry will be available as needed. Stay up to date by checking out the SWARM or Buzz.

For your safety and that of the Hornet community, it is imperative that you abide by the health and safety guidelines.

Welcome to Fall 2020
