SUNY Broome Teacher Education/Early Childhood Department and the Binghamton Association for the Education of Young Children (BAEYC) will hold the 36th annual SUNY Broome/BAEYC Children’s Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, in SUNY Broome’s Student Center.

This year’s theme is Early Years are Learning Years. April is recognized as the Month of the Young Child, which brings attention to the needs of young children and their families.

This interactive, fun-filled family event features developmentally appropriate, hands-on activities created by SUNY Broome Teacher Education/Early Childhood Education students. Big trucks, police cars, snowplows, fire trucks and Chenango Gymnastics will be on hand for the children to interact with as well. The event also will include child safety seat inspections, the Child-Safe Program and community exhibits, as well as entertainment by Johnny Only.

Nutritious and low-cost lunches and snacks will also be available. The event also will include basket raffles and the Scholastic BOGO Book Fair to support the Broome Educators of Children Association (BECA) club’s community and professional development initiatives

The cost of the event is $3 per child. Adults attend free with a donation to the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse. There is a $10 maximum cost per family.
